Windows 10: Excessive Brightness on Win 10 Display - Excess Whites

Hi All,

I have had a recent problem of having excess White light on the Display of my Dektop PC.

I have tried everything. Putting in low brightness and contrast through Monitor or through software makes it darker but then reduces the ability to read the text on screen properly. The fints becomes too dim/hazy (I have already set ClearType). The brightness of white light near blinds me.

I am on Dark Mode in Windows, but in the browser and elsewhere on Windows wherever a white background comes, I get an exploding white color.

I am on Win 10 - 2004 and I feel that this issue might have started with this update only - Not sure though.

I have 2 Dell monitors - U2718Q and P2715Q, and the same Issue happens on both. I checked from Dell folks and they said no Issues with the monitor very likely.

I have a NVidia GTX 1080 graphic card. I tried removing it and reverting to Microsoft Display Adapter but to no avail as same issue persists.

Dark mode pages work fine as expected.

Do you believe in excess?

It's only excessive if you don't need it. But then again, excess is different to many people. Some might think my rig is excessive, but I think Fitseries3's Mega-Rig 2010 is excessive.

He's paying like 20-25% retail price for it. I think it's not excessive at all for the performance he's getting. *Wink

 

Excess Partitions?

The top three are shown as empty because (from what we can see) they are: partition 1: EFI, partitions 4 & 5: Recovery - Disk Management does not have sufficient permissions to list their contents so it says they are unused, it doesn't mean they are empty or not in use. Minitool Partition Wizard will tell another story....
