Windows 10: Excessive internet data used on Windows 10 PC

I'm having a major issue with Windows 10 system data consumption on my personal computer, it's used over 57 GB of system data for the last 30 days, 67 GB in total in the last month. My app consumption is low and I've disabled automatic window updates but it's not reduced my data consumption. This computer will be rendered useless shortly, I'm moving to a rural area and have a data cap in place. I cannot spend thousands of dollars every month for rural data plans that utilize cellular networks. I work remotely and my work laptop windows uses 30GB total for 200 plus hours usage per month.

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Excess amount of data consumption in Windows 10

Hi All,

I have brought a new laptop HP Pavilion x360 with Windows 10 Home. While connecting to internet I found that my laptop is consuming too much of data (1GB/20 min). I have tried all the steps (switching off the updates, background data, etc) given in the forum
but didn't get any help.

Please suggest.

 

Excess data usage on Windows 10

What is causing excess data use in Windows 10? Data usage jumped 26 GB in a little over 1 hour this morning. Only thing open is my email a finance app.
