Windows 10: Excessive updates of KB2267602 Defender updates.

Since the start of the year update KB2267602 Defender signature updates has installed over 25 versions rough count on my system. Yet it still updates several times each day nearly paralyzing my system and making it unusable.I understand the need for keeping the signatures current, but upwards of 5 times daily is just excessive. How about cutting back on this update to once a day, OK? Otherwise I will have no choice but to disable updates permanently.

Hello

When I run Windows Update I receive the following message concerning Windows Defender:





And when I try Windows Defender itself, I get the following:





The latest definition version installed is 1.245.410.0. Can anyone suggest what might be at fault here?

I have tried several times to install the Definition Update for Windows Defender - KB2267602 (Definition 1.239.1678.0) and it will not update. Suggestions? Anyone else having the same issue?
