    Exclude Hard Drive From Windows Security


    Hello,I have a backup hard drive installed in my PC. Windows Security keeps waking the drive up periodically so I added the drive to the exclusions list to prevent this. The exclusions list does not specifically state that a drive can be added only files, folders, file types and processes but I added the D: drive to the list anyway. However, the problem persists.How can I prevent Windows Security from constantly waking up the backup hard drive?

    Windowed Hard Drives

    On the contrary, showing off "slow tech" by adding a window to a hard drive is a "dumb" idea. Do you really want to be showing off a whole "7200-10000 RPM of power" or would you rather show off a plain SSD drive? (If you really desire to "show off")

    Adding any window to any drive is just stupid. I just suggested an easier option for you since manufactures don't put windows on the latest hard drives.

    How Can I Exclude Windows Printer Driver Updates?

    Hi Shawn,

    We appreciate the workaround you've provided in this thread to help more people who has the same issue. As another suggestion, we advise that you do these steps to exclude driver update during Windows 10 updates. Here are the steps:

    • Open Settings.
    • Click Update and security.
    • Go to Windows Update.
    • Select Advanced options link.
    • Clear the Include driver updates when I update Windows option to complete the task.
