Windows 10: EXE FILE EXTENSION

Guys I was curious to know how to sole a silly issue that I encountered with while manipulating the registry keys.


So the issue is I accidentally changed the .exe file extension to ask me an option to Open with.


Forget about installing an app with .exe or or opening a registry file or importing a complete Registry file from windows it doesn't work tried it it says successful however doesn't work....



So the issue here now is .exe file is giving me an option called only open with and select the file

So if I open Cmd.exe or run Cmd it asks me open with and if I Select Open With Cmd.exe it won't work cause even that Cmd.exe is sent To Open With .exe

The issue now is even troubleshooting won't work as Cmd.exe will again ask me to chose an option to open with It goes All the way stuck In a loop hole again and again


So if i open Troubleshoot to run the trouble shoot it asks me which app to use to open the troubleshoot .


Again the taskbar,the registry fix everything wgich starts with .exe asks me which app it wants me to open the current .exe file when i open the cmd.exe file and click run as administrator again even run as administrator goes into the loop saying open with.


The point here is even Microsoft store asks me how to open Microsoft the to be clear the default option for app aslo doesn't work cause every .exe file is under loop here cannot break the loop unless i open Command prompt and also it leads me to reset my pc as it is the Option upto my knowledge.


Just wanted to know if anyone has a clue or Knowledge how this Issue can be resolved.




UNTILL SOME HOW I ACCESS THE CORE AND SET The .exe = exe And the issue is how do I do that when I cannot get to Cmd

I changes .exe (Default) files data value, and now I can't open .exe files. Can anyone tell me the normal data value for .exe?

files not opening with .exe extension

I'm not able to run any of the .exe files on my windows 10 laptop.This really seems to be a
strong virus because recently before this problem the google chrome page look had changed and was redirecting to yahoo page automatically for every search.although chrome is opening properly now but i can't open any of the .exe files of the
system,including task manager,cmd prompt in admin mode,regedit,downloads with .exe extension ,etc.... Somebody please help me with this problem.I
have really important work to complete. ;_;
