Windows 10: .exe files not opening, .exe filetype not visible in the default type list.

i tried to download and install logitech hub, when i click on it nothing happens. I was using tableau desktop, now it wont open either. Can i someone help with this issue. thanks. tried all of the suggestion from https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/exe-files-not-openingworking/7a274146-57c9-44dd-bdbd-6ed2cfba93c3 yet still not resolved.

Default app for .exe file types

Hello Guys

I am on Windows 10 and

I have accidentally changed the default app for .exe file types to notepad. Now everything is opening in nopp

I have changed default for .exe in registory to exefile but it is still not working.

If you can tell me the name of default program that opens .exe files and its location, I think that I would be able to change it using the "Choose default app for .exe files" menu.

If you have anyother solution, do share with me.

Exe files can only be opened by "run as administrator"

Corrupted registry settings, some third-party products, or viruses can change the default configuration for running .exe files. To rectify the issue with opening this particular file type, we suggest that you follow the steps
below:

• Right-click on the Start button, then choose Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
• Type regedit and press Enter.
  
• Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.exe.
  
• Double-click (Default) key, then set the Value data to
  exefile.
  
• Scroll down to go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\open\command key.
  
• Double-click (Default) key, then set the Value data to “%1” %*.
• Restart your computer.

can't open .exe files windows 10

Nothing happens after i I click on any .exe file
