Windows 10: .exe files opening in notepad

Hey, I was just trying to download a .exe file the other day, and accidentally clicked an option that made it so that every file I now open is opened with notepad. If there is any way to fix this, I would be very happy. Thanks.

1. Open Notepad > File > Save As > Put a name in File Name: box with extension.exe (example - temp.exe) and change Save As type: to all files and OK

2. Now right click on the file whose association do you want to change or remove > Open with > Choose another app > Scroll down > More apps > Look for another app on this PC > Choose the .exe file of step 1 > OK

Now delete the .exe file of step 1.

This will cause the association to be broken.

Exe file slow to open

A SFX archive isn't going to open right away. The files have to be extracted first. When you are opening it in WinRar, it's not extracting the file, it's just reading it which is why it opens right away.
