Windows 10: .exe or .msi installer takes more than 10 mins to load and it also freezes the parent...

The problem is a bit complicated to describeroblem:Recently I found that when I try to click a downloaded .exe or .msi installer to install something, it always took up to more than 10 minutes to show up.Before it shows up, the window would freeze.- E.g., if i clicked the .exe from windows explorer, the current window would hang and become unclickable. only focusable, not draggable and no mouse hover. The cursor becomes a busy circle when mouse is over the window. Other windows are not affected. It is also fine to open another explorer window. In the task manager, there's no obviously abno

had the same problem, freezes and long installation including each step loading, in my case a bios update helped.

for the method I used above, I did the already deletion in the
/windows/softwaredistribution/download.

Following your advice, I did the manual reset method twice (also the step 4). But some of my dll files are failed to load during the reregister the BITS step. Below are the dll files that failed to load:

• regsvr32.exe shdocvw.dll

• regsvr32.exe browseui.dll

• regsvr32.exe msxml.dll

• regsvr32.exe gpkcsp.dll

• regsvr32.exe sccbase.dll

• regsvr32.exe slbcsp.dll

• regsvr32.exe initpki.dll

• regsvr32.exe wuaueng1.dll

• regsvr32.exe wucltui.dll

• regsvr32.exe wuweb.dll

• regsvr32.exe qmgr.dll

After doing the manual reset twice, I still could not manage to install the Win 10. It always
failed at 42% during preparing installation phase.

 

Launching Application Loads MSI for a Different App

The following issue did not occur on Windows 7 and has occured since upgrading to Windows 10.

I have 2 applications that when launched, first load an MSI for a different program that is already installed. When I get to the prompt stating to insert the disk or browse for the source, I click cancel. I get an Error 1706, no valid source message, click
ok, the MSI rollsback and then the original application runs.

Checking the shortcuts, both applications are pointing to the right place. I also get the error if I navigate to the Program Files directory and run the exe directly.

Any thoughts/suggestions?
