I came across an interesting Windows internals fact. It didn't arrive on the weekly memorandums I do not receive from developers at Microsoft. Some magazine suggested this hack. The replacement for Control Panel is Settings. That is the gear icon on the here-today gone-tomorrow back-by-popular-demand Start button on the desktop. By default, Windows "manages" the size of the paging file for you. Folklore tells us that the default may produce unresponsive HIDs (human interface devices). Folklore suggests you go to Settings and find something called Performance where you can enlarge your paging file and thereby improve performance. I upped my paging file size to 20GB since I have plenty of capacity on the C: drive. And performance seems to have improved. I wonder, because I can only wonder (no commitment from Microsoft) whether by increasing the size of the paging file I will be entitled to allocate a larger N x N integer array. Do you know? Forums are for questions like this because nobody, but nobody at Microsoft with the power to set policy will allow questions to be answered by the company itself without a fat cash payment. I can't wait until I can run Windows on my iPhone. I've always dreamed of doing that. And "quality" updates that break 3rd party applications are the cat's meow in my neighborhood.

    :)

    Page File

Set minimum and maximum to a constant number as suggested by others, that will help reduce fragmentation on the drive coz of different page file sizing.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

How do I expand the 'Recent' list in the File Explorer?

    Thanks for an alternative suggestion.
