Windows 10: Expansion of files on copying

I have a 5TB disk E: which was just about full of archive images.So I bought an 8TB disk H: and copied ca 4.3TB from E to H:But according to H properties, there are now 5.93TB stored on it.The copying process has added double arrows, i.e. apparently compressing the files.According to the folder listings, the file sizes on the E and H are identical, as are the folder sizesCan you suggest how the expansion occurred and can be reversed?Thank you

You can't copy a folder, thats why it generates an exception (you are trying to copy a folder using a copy file function).
You probably need to list all the files inside that folder and copy one by one
