Windows 10: Experiencing random crash when idle New Dell Desktop

I have a new Dell Optiplex 7060 desktop with 512GB SSD and 16GB RAM. It is randomly crashing several times a day with a generic 0x124 error code in the Memory Dump. The process name associated with the error is system.

I have uninstalled three large applications (Adobe Cloud, Microsoft Office Standard 2019 Volume License and Microsoft Visio Standard 2019 Volume License). System is still crashing randomly.

System is up to date with all Windows 10 Professional updates (Version 1903) and all Dell firmware updates.

Random Crash/Freeze on Build 10130


Hello everyone.

I have been running the Windows 10 preview for the last few months and other than a driver issue here or there, did not experience any real problems. However, with the last update to build 10130, I have been experiencing a random crash/freeze that manifests itself in one of two ways:

1. If I step away from the computer and come back before the monitor is set to go to sleep, I will come back to a frozen cursor, unable to do anything.
2. If I step away from the computer and come back after the monitor has gone to sleep, I will come back to a black screen, unable to do anything.

In both cases, I have to hold the power button in to shut down the computer for a restart.

Any direction or help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Windows 10 Random Crashes

• When did the issue start?
• Were there any changes made on your computer before encountering the issue?
• Does the issue only occur when you're performing a specific task?
• How did you re-install your Windows 10?
• Aside from re-installing Windows 10, what are the troubleshooting steps you've done so far?

Random crashes on new computer

Hi, thanks for the reply.

Followed all steps and haven't received a crash yet but as I said before, its random.

NZXT CAM O.C. was never used but I use it for lighting and fan regulation.
I have OCCT installed but have never even launched it.
I've overclocked slightly on AORUS Engine but reset to default / silent mode for testing here.
Ryzen 5 is also slightly overclocked (one click UEFI optimal setting @ 3800)

Furmark overclock seemed quite stable at 68C which is fairly normal at that GPU usage.
