    Win10: windows update stuck at never ending loop ?

    When in win10:
    • Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....
    Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
    - Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.

    Windows Update contiunally searches for updates on Vista/7 ISOs downloaded from Microsoft TechNet

    I used to have a TechNet subscription, until that went the way of the dinosaur. Right before they shut it down, I downloaded updated ISOs (I believe they slipstreamed updates into them every once in a while to make installation easier). Now whenever I install Windows from one of these ISOs, Windows Update just continually searches for updates and never finds anything. This happens consistently, no matter what system I install them on. Oddly, installing Windows from the out-of-date discs I burned when I first signed up for the service works fine and I'm able to find updates. This is incredibly annoying, because I do not have discs for 32bit versions and that's what I'm trying to install right now on one of my laptops.

    Do you think Microsoft maybe broke Windows Update in the latest ISOs so people couldn't continue to use TechNet software after the service was shut down?
