    Explorer add-on/extension to easily access recent folders in file open/save dialog boxes


    In the times before Windows 7, I had an add-on to my Windows Explorer that was adding an extra button to the Save and Open dialog boxes providing a list of the recently used folders in a drop down menu.

    That sounds to me like an obvious feature: when you are about to save a file, it's very likely that it will be in a folder you've used recently.

    Does anyone know a similar add-on/extension that would replicate this functionality in Window 10?
    Please note: I am not looking for a 3rd party Explorer replacement.

    Recent places dissappears in Quick Access in open/save dialog


    I have pinned "Recent Places" folder (%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Recent) and this folder shows in explorer windows in Quick Access area. This is OK.
    But why this folder disappears from Quick Access aren in open / save dialogs in all applications?
    This is strange. Every other pinned items show up in both explorer windows and open/save dialogs...
    Any thoughts?

    File Explorer Quick Access has Recent Folders pinned but it vanishes..


    So File Explorer Quick Access shows Recent Folders, because I pinned it to be there:

    But, when you go to "Save as" dialog box, Recent Folders inexplicably disappears from Quick Access:

    Why is that? How can I fix it so that "Save as" and "Open" show Recent Folders in Quick Access in navigation pane?
