Windows 10: Explorer.exe hanging and crashing frequently

Windows 11 Version 23H2 OS Build 22631.4169Explorer.exe has been frequently hanging. I taskkill it killing whole desktop and restart it, but it does it again maybe 1x per day?. I do not have many things running in startup. I've rebooted my machine several times.I have not found a pattern that triggers it happening. The last time it happen I drug a file to sharepoint to copy it. The drag icon never appeared. No dialogs opened. After that that explorer.exe is hung a new explorer.exe windows is blank Not Responding in title bar. I tried opening a 3rd explorer.exe and nothing happens no w

some .exe files hang


In the last 48 hours, some .exe files do not execute. If started from explorer, explorer hangs. No error messages. These files run on another Win 10 machine. Nothing obvious in the event viewer. I note that *.exe file cannot be deleted when the system is in this state. I must reboot to regain access to the .exe file. sfc /scannnow shows no errors.

Any suggestions?

 

HD 2600XT Hangs and Crashes

I can probably play cod4 or any other game really for about 45-60 minutes before my system hangs and my card crashes and my screen goes blank, i know its only my card because my system doesnt restart, my card fan stops running on full from its riva override, and soon thereafter my screen comes back on in 800x600 and i cant access the card's drivers to change the res or anything, so when it hangs and crashes i just resort to manually restarting.

one thing i think i could try is to bite the bit and install the latest drivers, i've been holding off on that.

but if there's anything else anyone can think of, or if someone has had the same problem as me. go for it and give me some suggestions.

in before buy the 4870. (already on my wish list)

Sorry I got nothing more to suggest then.

File explorer hanging is an image issue. So if you can't do a repair upgrade or reset your PC then you can contact microsoft support directly to see if they have further steps but I am sure they are going to tell the same thing i did.
