Windows 10: explorer.exe sometimes just crashes and restarts randomly

There is a random problem happening. explorer.exe sometimes just crashes and restarts randomly. A closer look at the Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Applications shows Event ID 1000:Faulting application name: Explorer.EXE, version: 10.0.19041.964, time stamp: 0x8aeeaedfFaulting module name: DUI70.dll, version: 10.0.19041.746, time stamp: 0x55510662Exception code: 0xc0000005Fault offset: 0x000000000002cfe8Faulting process id: 0x3a2cFaulting application

Explorer.exe randomly crashing

My explorer.exe has been crashing randomly and I can't figure out why.

Also sometimes constantly right clicking my desktop would crash it as well.

The reliability history shows the times when explorer.exe crashed randomly. It usually happens around night time.

 

media player/internet explorer randomly crashes

i have had my computer going for about 5 months, and at times divx, windows media player, winamp, and internet explorer will randomly crash on me, i can play everquest for days, and any other game i got doesn't crash, everything seems to work fine except those programs, does anybody have any idea what this might be.

Thank you for your reply. If the above steps did not work, let's try another workaround. You can try restarting your Windows Explorer from the Task Manager and see if it will resolve the issue. Follow the steps below:

• Open Task Manager.
• Click the drop-down arrow beside More details.
• Under Processes tab, look for Windows Explorer from the list.
• Select Windows Explorer, right-click on it and select Restart.

After doing so, open Windows Explorer and see if it will crash again.
