How to open multiple apps in one go in Windows 10

Yes, You can create a customize shortcut to launch multiple application.

To do it, follow these steps:

Step 1: Open the Start menu and go to All apps to find the first program you want to open in your batch. Right-click on the program and click Open file location.

Step 2: A File Explorer window will open to the program's location. Right-click on the program in the File Explorer window and click Properties.

Step 3: In the Properties window, click the Shortcut tab. Find Target: field, select the text in the textbox, and copy it. Open up a new Notepad noteand paste this text in that window.

Step 4: Repeat steps 1 through 3 for the second (and third, and fourth) program(s) you want to open in this shortcut.

Step 5: Once you have collected the target info for all of the programs you want to open in one shortcut, arrange the text so it looks like this:

Step 6: Save your file as a BAT file to the desktop. To do this, go to File > Save As, navigate to the desktop, and type the name of your shortcut followed by .bat (for example, mullan) in the File name field. In the Save as type field, click the dropdown menu and select All files. Then click Save.

  3. Can't modify file properties when multiple files selected

Ok, I've never had this issue before. I have a folder containing 17 tracks (mp3 files) ripped from windows media player to a local folder. I want to update the "contributing artist" property. I am selecting all 17 files and make the update but when I click
apply/ok, the changes are not made. I tried deleting the value and re-typing it. Even though I am typing the value and it seems to take my entry when I click ok and exit out, the changes are not there.

I used to be able to do this all the time. When selected multiple files and update properties, it should update the property of all selected files. I just selected one file and updated the "contributing artist" and it worked but that means I have to do the
same thing 16 more times. What could be the possible reasons why multiple selection is not working for updating file properties? I don't want to use windows media player. I don't even want to add the tracks to my windows media library. I should be able to
make the change through Windows Explorer. Any help would be appreciated.

explorer.exe Strange text when going into Properties when multiple files are selected

    Open With on multiple files?

you can do this using a workaround by using "Send to" on the right click context menu in Windows File Explorer. Here's how

Step 1 - Add Chrome shortcut to SendTo folder so that chrome may appear in the send to menu.

    SendTo folder:%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo

This can be done in one of several ways. I will mention one of the easiest below.

    • Right-drag the Google Chrome shortcut that was created on the Desktop when Chrome installed, or the Chrome shortcut in the Start menu, to the SendTo folder and select Copy.

Note: Right-click this shortcut, select Properties, and confirm that the Target field contains no command line options, just the path + file name for Chrome.

Step 2: Select the 16 JPGs, right click, go to "Send to" & select "Google Chrome".

That's it. All JPGs will open in Chrome, each in its own tab.

I use this with Firefox, but it should work with Chrome too.

    Troubleshoot #1

If Google Chrome doesn't appear in the "Send to" menu, try restarting Windows File Explorer from Task Manager.

    Troubleshoot #2

If the JPGs open in multiple windows, you might want to consider installing an extension in Chrome to prevent this behaviour. I suggest One Window.
