  1. explorer.exe uses all virtual memory, Resource-Exhaustion Detector

Looked at it, won't it mess up my desktop and stuff, cause i got it on another harddrive.
Otherwise i can just do a clean install, however i have 2 of my harddrives in a striped volume, so i am not sure how that will work.

A repair installation keeps all your stuff, it is like an upgrade or something, it keeps all personal stuff and programs but you have to install any Windows Update all over again.

  3. Okay got the error again while i was away from my PC, this was another Overclock i had changed after last time, which should also be stable.

So now, i have set everything to default and auto on the CPU.
Only disabled some hardware i don't need (soundcard etc), enabled ACPI 2.0 as i assume it's good ( think it's HPET).
Also set the HDDs to AHCI and IDE to Enhanced. (It's kinda weird cause if i disable IDE and change to AHCI,
nothing is detected even though the "disabled" settings is hidden cause i changed to AHCI.
So i must have IDE and Enhanced, then set IDE to AHCI.

And that's that, if i still get the error now, i am assuming it's Windows and i will then do a upgrade or reinstall.

Got several Resource Exhaustion Detector this time 6 of them, all say explorer.exe as the highest (bytes in ram changed on each).

Added some errors i seem to get when i boot in the Event Viewer - System.
Not sure if they play a role at all or not.

    Thanks*Smile

  4. explorer.exe uses all virtual memory, Resource-Exhaustion Detector

Okay have identified the issue, or rather a friend noticed.
It was cause of my Recycle Bin. It had enormous amount of files, and i didn't think much of it.
But it seems that when i open and it goes through all the files, it uses tons of ram.
Eventually it goes to 30gb and there is no more in the page file.

Why i didn't notice it is cause i just open the recycle bin and then wait and forget about it as it takes so much time.
So i didn't think that was the cause, but i did a test after my friend noticed that it seems to occur when i do that (cause he had asked for a file i had deleted, so i had opened the recycle bin and done other stuff meanwhile and then the crash occurs).
So i did a test afterwards and looked at the memory, and indeed that's the cause.

    Damn that's ridiculous i didn't see it, i am ashamed -_-.
Still got many weird errors except from that in the event viewer and i do get audio glitches as rare occasions so my OS might still be broken though, or some weird driver issue or OC duno.
