Hi, My Dell XPS 15 9500 Laptop just updated my Windows 11 for the latest updates KB5046617 and KB5045934 on 17-Nov-2024. Since then I have been facing a peculiar problem while using File Explorer. It is extremely slow to respond on double-clicking to open any folders or files on Drive D: which is synced with my OneDrive. Observations: 1. This happens only in the right pane of File Explorer when I double-click any folder to open it. It takes almost 30 seconds to open a folder. 2. This slow response is not seen when clicking any folder on the left pane. 3. The folder also opens quickly if I ri

Explorer extremely slow navigating in cloud-synced folders after update to Windows 11

    Hi all,

I Just upgraded to Windows 11 from Windows 10. When i click or double-click any file or folder within a cloud-synchronized directory structure (Sharepoint and Onedrive) Windows Explorer takes exactly three spinning wheel breaks before executing the requested action. Interestingly, navigating in the left panel with the favorites does not show this delay, nor does the file selector of an arbitrary application.

    Windows 11 Business, 10.0.22000 Build 22000

    Intel i7-1165G7

The following thread has asked the exact same question, but has offered no solution and was closed.

    Redirecting

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Kind regards, Sjef

  3. Explorer extremely slow navigating in cloud-synced folders

Windows Explorer takes exactly three spinning wheel breaks before executing the requested action whenever I click or double-click any file or folder within a cloud-synchronized directory structure (OneDrive for Business, synced SharePoint directory, even Dropbox).

Navigating in the left panel with the favorites does not show this delay, nor does the file selector of an arbitrary application.

    Windows 11 Pro, 21H2, Build 22000.708.

    Any ideas?

Explorer extremely slow navigating in cloud-synced folders

Hi, I'm Mario, and I'd be happy to help with your issue.

We are sorry about what happened.

Possibly it is some program running at windows startup along with this service.

Do the step by step below to disable all files at windows startup and see if they slow down when you start the cloud programs.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-t...

Note: This process will not affect the operation of your applications, they will just not start with the operating system. Later, you can activate them again.

Please return to this thread letting me know if you were successful, ok?

    Kind Regards,

    Mario B.
