  1. Explorer extremely slow navigating in cloud-synced folders

Windows Explorer takes exactly three spinning wheel breaks before executing the requested action whenever I click or double-click any file or folder within a cloud-synchronized directory structure OneDrive for Business, synced SharePoint directory, even Dropbox.Navigating in the left panel with the favorites does not show this delay, nor does the file selector of an arbitrary application.Windows 11 Pro, 21H2, Build 22000.708.Any ideas?

    :)

Extremely slow Windows Explorer. Please help.

Hello - there's solution posted here - but cannot say if it works totally yet though but it has helped me just now. Hope it helps you too. Save any work open first, before you do this.

Taken from site at this board - Solved File explorer slow with loading thumnails and files - Windows 10 Forums

    Step by step guide:
    1. Hold Win+r to open run
    2. Type msconfig and hit ok or enter
    3. Click Services
    4. Navigate to Windows search (you can sort the list in descending alphabetical order)
    5. Uncheck tickbox
    6. Click apply then ok
    7. Select to restart now

    Hope this works for you.

-- Your system will need a restart when it reconfigures itself so save any work first. I tried this myself and it ran slow first time while it indexed slow directories - then after I closed file explorer and reloaded it it ran fast on slow directories. I hope it helps you. Best of luck and best wishes.

  3. File Explorer Extremely Slow or Not Responsive

I have windows 10 and these issues occur when using file explorer, moving or managing files.

    A. File explorer takes minutes to open or won't open when clicked on (this includes using the windows search bar and any icons on the computer).

    B. File explorer crashes often or is extremely slow while attempting to rename a file.

    C. File explorer crashes often or is extremely slow while Creating/naming a new folder

    D. File explorer is in general extremely slow and crashes when moving through various folders.

I hope this is enough information to indicate what is wrong. I really need help with this as my computer is becoming nearly unusable for certain tasks due to these issues.

Any help is appreciated, and if you need any more information please let me know.

    Thanks!

Explorer extremely slow navigating in cloud-synced folders

Windows 10 navigation pane and folder list sync

The unexpected result is, that the highlighted folder and the displayed files mismatch.

When you see the explorer, you never know if someone clicked on the folder name and updated the file list or

if the folder name was highlighted by navigating with the keys and the second step (ENTER) was not done.

    That's not the expected behaviour.
