Windows 10: Explorer/FileManager Right Context 'Open With' Menu item has three different photoshop.exe...

When I Right Click on a JPG, PNG, or GIF file in Explorer/FileManager the Context Menu allows me to select:two photoshop.exe itms left behind by old uninstalls, no current Photoshop item, and a couple of other old left behind application shortcuts.How do I get rid of them?Is there NO central location of Registry entries governing this context menu's contents?Is there no specific Key structure to search for, in the Registry?

Explorer context menu new items are missing

Hi,

I am using Windows 11 and this started happening today.

When I right click, it shows the explorer right click context menu, which includes New. If I hover over that, it shows a bunch of different office apps to choose from. However, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is not in that list anymore. So I have to do this manually by opening PowerPoint > New. But weird, other apps like Publisher and Access are still there.

Is this a known issue?

If so, is there a fix?

Context Menu - Open With (Windows Suggested List)

Well.. have a look at this:

I took a risk. I've set a System Restore point then installed Gold Wave. It was not present in that Open With list. I used the Default Programs Editor:

Did you click Save...? You should have seen:

Note: if you are running as a standard user you may need to run it as admin, if it doesn't offer a UAC prompt.
