    Explorer keeps crashing every few seconds and restarting


    Hi, I'm so desperate, I tried so many fixes and can't get it fixed. So I send my PC either to sleep mode with a couple of Chrome Tabs or I just left it running. When I returned a couple of hours later the task bar and all the icons on the desktop kept flickering Explorer immediately crashed and restarted over and over. I can't open anything Explorer-related, so I can't get into the settings to roll back any updates or try to update the PC. I went into safe mode and tried doing it there but you can't run updates in safe mode. I had a bug in Safe mode where I got the error of an overflow when

    I did the steps you wrote. All the settings were as you suggested. The File Explorer keeps crashing.

    Even if I restart my computer explorer crashes every once in a while.


    I have attached a list of my non Microsoft Shell Extensions from ShellXView, so any idea of which ones could be causing issues and that I should disable first?

    Thanks Zat. I had never looked at event viewer and it had more info than I thought. Seems the problem was a second computer I was trying to network with. Unplugging the ethernet cable fixed the crashes. Explorer must have been looking in the wrong place I guess.
