Windows 10: Explorer keeps reordering folder view when copying files

Over the next few months, I shall be filling a folder by copying selected files from elsewhere, currently 300, will be ca 1000.Before adding a file, I need to check which files are already included.When I indentify a file missing from its place in alphabetical order, I add it. The recently added file is placed in its place in alphabetical order. But the view point drops about 3 screens down to the bottom of the listing. I want the folder view position not to change after the new file is added.I then have to scroll back up and find that place in the listing, every time, to identify the next fi

You can't copy a folder, thats why it generates an exception (you are trying to copy a folder using a copy file function).
You probably need to list all the files inside that folder and copy one by one
