Windows 10: explorer local files vs OneDrive

How to make my local documents, pictures etc available in explorer, and do not redirect me to OneDrive all the time ?That's the worst file manager design so far. You just have no idea where are you files actually placed, complete mess.

Recent shortcuts for apps show files on OneDrive instead of local hard drive

I was able to follow the steps and uncheck the "Use Office apps to sync" box but it didn't change Office's behavior. I opened and closed an Excel spreadsheet on my local hard drive. After that, when I right-clicked on the Excel icon pinned to the taskbar, a link to the OneDrive cloud file was in the list of recent files instead of a link to the file on my hard drive.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Office Document listed in OneDrive Web not listed in in File Explorer ?

If lost connection/sync is the cause:

1. would it take more than 10 minute wait after OneDrive reset for the document to show in File Explorer?
   
2. in lieu of waiting for sync, what if I manually copy from OneDrive to Local PC?

• Delete all the files.
• After deleting the files kindly try and see if there's a thumbnail preview of your files.
