Windows 10: Explorer Showing Local Disk with Blue Question Mark

Currently, Windows 10 File Explorer is showing a local disk s: that has a blue question mark beside it. Disk Management does not show the disk. I was having problems with an USB external disk F: and was using Diskpart to see if I could remove or find the cause of the problem. I had inadvertently initiated a reformat on this drive but stop it. Unfortunately, it made the drive not readable and every time I click on the drive in File Explorer, it said I needed to format the drive. I ran dskchk on the drive and was able to restore the drive and it is accessible. While using Diskpart, I don't re

Is there a way to remove this blue question mark button from File Explorer?

I never press it, and usually whenever I need help with fixing stuff on the computer, that question mark is the least likely button that will help me out, lol. Thanks!

 

Optical drive shows blue question mark and become non responsive

• Windows 10 has the latest updates
• The DVD/CD-ROM is not visible anymore in control panel / device manager as soon as the blue question mark appears over the drive letter for the drive (in explorer) Hence a bit difficult to check the driver and to try to update it
