    Hi guys,

    This is another minor annoyance. When I insert any removable drive (USB, SD cards, etc) the device shows up twice in Explorer. Once under "This PC" tree and the other as a device. See attached pic (USB Drive H):

    I remember hearing about this being the way it's designed to work, but frankly it's a bit silly - I only need to see a single entry for the drive/device...

    Is there any way to get rid of one of these entries without stuffing up some other Explorer feature?

    File Explorer for Windows 10 shows Duplicate External Drive Folders/Files

    Windows has recreated the key. I've just found another way to hide the duplicate removable drives. You can download the REG file here.

    You need to logoff and login back for the changes the take effect.

    (There is also a UNDO file if you want to revert back the setting.)

    It's a bug which you'll probably find will recur at some stage. I did the registry fix, and things were ok for quite a while.

    By contrast, XYplorer, for example (commercial/free file manager) does not demonstrate the same problem when explorer does.
