Explorer view of OneDrive shows sync pending but taskbar view shows in sync

I was attempting to solve the issue that Explorer showedthat the folders in my Onedrive container were ‘Sync pending’ while the OneDrivetaskbar icon showed the folders were in sync. Those folders were all originallylocated on the C: drive before I got involved with OneDrive and their totalcontents were moved to within the OneDrive container but at no point subject toa ‘Free up space’ command. So their status should show as a solid green circle, should it not?

In my OneDrive folder there are \Desktop, \Downloads, \Documents,and \Pictures the original four; and a shared folder \Public Music thecontents of which are physically on another disk in the PC but which ‘belong’to a different OneDrive account. In Explorer I right-clicked the \Picturesfolder and selected ‘Always keep on this PC’ even though it’s content shouldbe / is actually already located locally. A dialogue box appeared showing thesystem was applying properties to over 117 thousand files in “Desktop”, and theOneDrive taskbar icon showed the system was downloading over 600GB of files whichare located in the cloud copy which is shared via “\Public Music”. A potentialproblem as the C: drive is only 500GB in size. In Explorer I right-clicked ‘PublicMusic’ and unset ‘Always keep in this device’ which I had not set but theOneDrive taskbar icon still shows that it is still downloading over 600GB of musicfiles.

Clearly OneDrive is not yet fit for purpose. As I began to write this , myC: drive had 90 GB free but is ‘leaking’ space as I watch – I wonder what itwill say in the morning?

  2. OneDrive Sync Status

Since the 10 April MS Updates, the OneDrive folder in the Navigation pane of File Explorer no longer shows the green tick box that it did before. Before all folders and files showed the green tick box in the Navigation Pane. Now, I have a "Status" column,
showing a status icon alongside each folder and file in the details window. However, the status of some folders is showing as 'Sync Pending', but I don't think this can be correct as none of the individual files in those folders show as "Sync Pending". I've
tried re-saving the files in those folders and the status changes, temporarily, to a green tick. If I move away from that view in File Explorer and then back again, the "Sync Pending" icon re-appears against that folder. Rather than employ a suggested technical
workaround, I would prefer to await a further update that fixes this, so, for now,
I'd be interested if others are experiencing the same issue so that more people can be flagging the issue up. (I would have used the 'OneDrive' category in this community, but that is 'locked').

  3. OneDrive appears to be syncing, but nothing is happening

I recently purchased a new laptop (Dell XPS) with Windows 10. My OneDrive account has 1TB of storage and I copied 137GB and 1.1mm files into it.

It looks like much of the data isn't syncing at all. The icons for the larger folders all have the "sync" icon on them, but no files are showing up in the online view and the OneDrive store app shows that nothing is pending upload.

Interesting the high level OneDrive icon shows a green checkmark.

I looked in the event viewer for logs, but no luck. I've also addressed all files with invalid characters. I'm sure there are some files that are more than 255 characters, but certainly not all of them.

Any tips on what to try next?

WIN10 Task view did not show opened file

I got a problem with my task view. After reinstall WIN10 due to some hang up problem, the task view only show file that was open from internet explorer or onedrive. All other file opened from local drive did not show in task view.

If I keep onedrive open and in sync mode, then task view can see the opened file. If I keep onedrive off sync mode, task view will not show any opened file from local drive.

    Anyone can give solution?
