Windows 10: Export windows contact file to vcf file failed

I have to export windows contact file to the vcf file but failed, last time I have do it few time also success.


1. My information make it to a excel file, I save it to csv file.

2. I import the csv file into the windows contact.

3. When I export the window contact to vcf file then appear a word "Error exporting contacts"





Why is this happen? I try to check which file stop exporting, it is just normal name and contact number. I try to remove the next one to continue the export, but it keep stop after few contacts. It is about few thousand contact, I can't do it manually. Please help.

I first imported the names and mobile numbers from a CSV file by following the below steps.

1. Search--> Contacts--> Import --> Choose the CSV file; this will convert the CSV file to windows contact format.

2. Contacts-->export--> VCF --> will convert the windows contact to VCF file. This step gives an error message "Error Exporting contacts".

Basically, I want to manually sync contacts back and forth, between my computer and my phone.

Going from computer to phone, the easiest way for me has been exporting/backing up the computer's .vcf file, moving it to my phone, delete my phones current contact list, and then importing the .vcf file from the computer, which instantly results in an complete, updated list.

However, going in the other direction is my problem.

If I try to do the same in reverse, trying to import the .vcf file into the computer contacts, it wants to do it one contact at a time, instead of the full list all at once.

I suppose they can be Imported/Exported thru gmail, but I would prefer doing it directly...phone contacts only, without importing gmail contacts

Convert Contacts file to .VCF

Windows 10 has a routine to make this conversion but it does not appear to work.

I learned that if you type " c:\users\%username%\contacts"

This same routine comes up in Windows 10 but it doesn't work for me and Outlook 2016.

I get to point 3 "Export to vcf" and choose vcf. The system then jumps to a report saying that the file has been converted and put in the location I chose. The problem is that it has not given me a chance to choose a location and secondly even a wildcard search for *.vcf cannot find it.

My conclusion is that the csv file has not been reformatted.I would appreciate any help, thank you.
