This could be anything, but I wonder if it can be caused by C: being overly-full ... (only 18GB left on a 250 GB SSD). Regardless, I suspect that there is a hardware problem somewhere, since I am able to render the Adobe video on my laptop running the same software on Windows 10.

    Uploading log files as requested.

Please check {windows partition}\windows\minidump and check if there are any dump files saved.
The zip is empty of dump files.
Please make sure your pc is configured for small dump files How to configure minidump | Windows 10 tutorial

It was originally set for larger dump files. There was limited space on my SSD (taken care of), which probably resulted in W10 automatically deleting the dump file. It has been now set for minidump.

    System specs are filled in.

Please upload a new zip file created with the DM Log Collector tool when you've received another bluescreen.

Very frustrating. This time, after clearing much of the junk from C:, I re-ran Adobe Elements, and the file saved without a crash.

So the clutter on C: was likely the cause, even though I made every effort to make Adobe work on drives outside of C: since I purchased the product.

Like bringing a defective appliance to a repair shop, you oftentimes can't reproduce the error.

I understand that you're not having problems regarding bluescreens, is that correct?

To answer your question about SSD free space in the first post of the thread.
You need at least 10% free space of the size of your hard drive, this so windows can perform operations in the background that are necessary. Having less free space could give performance problems or bluescreens or other problems.

Finally, I can post something hopefully useful.

    Dump and logs are attached.

    Hi Paulking,

The error code is a 0x124, this is a hardware error code and means there is a problem somewhere with your hardware.
Although, the causes are mostly due to overclocking or drivers.

    Lets start with your CPU

Note If you're overclocking anything, please stop it and set everything back to default while troubleshooting

Warning Your CPU temperature will rise quickly while under this test. Keep a keen eye on the temperatures and abort the test if the temperatures rise too high

As you suggested, the UEFI was reset so that the CPU controls were at their default values. Also, I noticed that my C: was getting overfull again, and after identifying the program doing it and terminating it, I deleted a lot of extraneous files leaving about 30% of the hard drive unused.

I have been running Prime 95 alongside RealTemp 3.70 and have found that the CPU hovers around 90-100C in all four cores. Only core 2 has ever gotten as high as 100C. The rest are below that. The program has been running for just over an hour. After an 1:05 hours and stopping the test, there have been 0 errors and 0 warnings in all 8 virtual CPUs tested. 30 tests were run.

The docs for the Intel i7-4770k processor says that the max temperature at the Integrated Heat Spreader is supposed to be 72.72C. If they mean the fan they supplied in the box it came in, I wasn't using it. I was using Corsair liquid-cooling which dissipates the heat at a vent below the box, far from the CPU. After the test ended, the temperature almost immediately went back down to about 30-35C.

I just read that tenforums recommends two hours minimum, so I am re-running the test.
    ----
After 2:45, I do not have anything different to report. 100C has always been the maximum temperature, only reached in CPU2.

With the temperature, I think they mean the CPU itself, they don't know which cooling system you're using.
Please clean your CPU with thermal paste and try the test again.

Hi. After cleaning the heat spreader and the contact area for the water cooling assembly, and reapplying the thermal paste, there was a bit of improvement on the heat issue, but not a great deal. Primes95 caused the temperature to hit 100C less frequently (after 5 minutes of testing), but as you know it should be nowhere near that. Its constant running temperature (with a browser and some other simple apps running) appears to be around 30C-36C. Any suggestions as to how to bring the heat down to something a little more sane during the testing?

Btw, I looked up this thing about the integrated heat spreader, and it appears to be the flat piece of metal that covers the top of the CPU.

Thanks for your help so far.

Reapplying the thermal paste should bring the temperature a lot down, unfortunately I wouldn't know another way to bring down the temperature.
I'll ask the hardware expert if he knows a method to bring down the temperature.

In the meantime, have you experienced another BSOD?

    Hi.

Thanks again for your suggestions. I intend to reapply the thermal paste again, but will have to do that and other diagnostics later after I run some errands, to address priorities other than my computer *Smile
