Windows 10: Expression Web 4 won't launch

I was using Expressions Web 4 yesterday, today when I try to launch it the splash screen comes up, then drops away but the program never launches. I un-installed it and then re-installed it. Same issue.


If I try to "run as administrator" the program comes up. But it is a bad idea to run a program as the admin all the time, two in admin mode it does not have access to my NAS and files on my NAS.


I have not installed any update that I know of, sometimes they happen in the background.


I am now locked out of editing my web site. DOH!


I lost all my configurations, but I "fixed" it. I went into "C:\Users\*my profile name*\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft and deleted he Expressions folder. This deleted the problem data and now it will run.


Is Microsoft Expressions Web 4 still supported?

Option 1: Run the Repair for Expression Web 4.

This will repair the missing components of Expression Web 4 for it to work properly. To run the repair for Expression Web 4, follow the steps below:

• Click Start, type Control Panel.
• Click Uninstall a program.
• Select Expression Web 4 from the list.
• Click Repair or Uninstall/Change,
  click Continue, click Repair.

Once you're done, restart your device and check if the issue is resolved.

Option 2: Remove the extensions of Expression Web 4.

On the Start Menu Search Box, type Control Panel > This PC > Drive C
and follow this path: Program Files/Microsoft Expression/Web/en/Extensions, and remove the two folders inside
Extensions.
