  1. extended screen via HDMI to HDMI cord in WIN 10

someone at best buy told me that a double ended HTML cord would serve this purpose, but apparently it doesn't. it doesn't make sense to me, as all the other times that I've had this setup, it has only mirrored the screen. and it did it automatically. see images for what I see. one is the red words. there is no detection of the cord between the 2 LT's connected. the other is the wireless devices detected by the primary LT. the other LT is not detected although the BT is turned on. am I doing anything wrong? It seems to me that I should be getting at least a little more results than nothing. I no? I found this, but I don't think it helps:

NO LAPTOP DETECTION SEEN WITH CORD:

NO SECONDARY BLUETOOTH LAPTOP DETECTED BY PRIMARY LT EVEN THOUGH IT IS TURNED ON:

  2. HDMI

    Hi Craig,

We appreciate your interest in Windows 10.

Please try the methods below and check if it works.

    Method 1:

I would suggest you to follow the steps and check.

Let’s first check if “HDMI Output” is selected as the default device.

    Follow these steps:

    • Click Start and select
      Control Panel.
    • On the right hand side of the screen, under
View by: click the drop-down icon and select Large icons.
    • Click Sound.
    • If you do not have the
HDMI Output listed under “Playback” tab, right click in the
playback window and select Show Disabled Device and
      Show Disconnected Device.
    • If the HDMI Output option appears, right-click
      HDMI Output and select Default
      Device.
Now the audio must be playing on HDMI

    Method 2:

I suggest you to update the HDMI drivers. Refer the below link to check how to update drivers in Windows 10.

How to: Install and Update drivers in
    Windows 10

If the issue persist, try to update the recent HDMI drivers from the manufacturer’s website and check if the issue is resolved.

I hope the above information helps. Kindly let us know if you need any further assistance with Windows. We are glad to assist you.

    Thank you.

PC to TV via HDMI Cord

I am following your thread hoping you will come up with a solution because I have a similar but NOT exactly the same problem. Solution to your case might give me an insight on what I should do.
Forgive me if I appear hijacking your thread. Here is my problem, maybe you can help me out........

My TV (not a smart TV) has 2 hdmi ports.
I use one for my Roku, and the other one for my laptops and tablets.
HDMI connection to my laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium works (using hdmi to hdmi tv cable).
HDMI connection to my Surface tablet running Windows 8.1 RT works ( using the micro hdmi to hdmi tv cable )

HDMI connection to my laptop running Windows 10 Pro version 1703, build 15063.674 fails....... error message : no signal.

I have 2 hdmi to hdmi tv cables. They both fail on my Win 10 laptop.
I did try switching to the other hdmi port on my tv. Results same as above.

Adding : I have a Surface Pro1 running Win 10 Pro, but it does not have a micro hdmi port. So, I don't know if it will work with the hdmi connection.

  4. extended screen via HDMI to HDMI cord in WIN 10

PC to TV via HDMI Cord

I'm trying to stream video on my TV from my computer using an HDMI cord. Both have an HDMI port. The TV is the HDMI2 port. I've done everything suggested on the web to get his to work. I do have 2 display ports/cards because I use 3 monitors. I thought that might be an issue so I disabled one of them and had only one monitor/card running. Still the computer will not acknowledge the TV being connected. So, I tried a VGA cord from the computer to the TV. Still the computer does not recognize the TV. I've changed resolution, tried powering up in different order, trying all the options with SHIFT+P. Still no luck. I'm going to go and get a new HDMI cable today, maybe the one I have is bad. Any ideas? I've tried most of them that are on the web.

    Thanks!

    M!
