Windows 10: External Blu Ray Device drivers appear to be install correctly

I have a Verbatim External Slimline Blu-Ray Writer Model LPUBAA that I have used on both my desktop and laptop before without any issues. It's a plug and play that normally I can plug in and Windows will install the necessary drivers. Yesterday, I attemped to plug it into my MSI laptop, and it did not list as being a connected drive on my PC. When I checked under my connected USB devices, it did show up. I checked under Device manager, and it is showing up under the optical drive as VirtualDisk USB Device. When I take a look at the driver details, it like the provider as Microsoft and the date

Extrenal Blu-Ray not recognized?

HI, Running Alienware x51 with Windows 10. I own a Sony BD5740H-01 external Blu-Ray writer. It is housed in a generic external case I bought from China. I look in Device Manager to locate and nothing is listed either in the Disc Drives or USB folders.
I've searched for drivers for the Blu-Ray and the enclosure but they are unsupported (from 2012) What can I do to get it working? Thanks

 

Help...asus bw-12b1st will not read blu-ray dvd

I bought an ASUS BW-12B1ST Blu-ray writer...installed and it didnt read ANY dvd...deleted from devices and restarted...it then played dvd's but NOT Blu-ray dvd...it lists as BD player under Computer...I run ANY DVD HD and it recognizes it as a blu-ray writer, but no play...OS is VISTA. Suggestions??

A quick question before we proceed:

Does Blu-ray disc works fine?

If Blu-ray disc works fine there is no need to worry about the device manager. Since it might be using the generic drivers.

I suggest you to uninstall the Blu-ray disc from the manager and restart your system and check if it helps. Once you restart the system, it will automatically re-install the latest blue-ray disc. Please follow the steps below:

  Right Click on Start, Select Device Manager.
  
• 
  Find and double-click the category of device whose driver you wish to uninstall (for example, the graphics card would be listed under Display Adapters) here its USB.
  
• 
  Right-click the device, and click Uninstall.
  
• 
  Windows will prompt you to confirm the device’s removal. Click
  OK to remove the driver.
  
• 
  After the uninstallation is complete, reboot your computer as soon as possible
