    External Camera Driver?


    Hello, I got an external camera for my laptop for Christmas along with an External Microphone. But I can't get either of them working. They say they do not need Drivers to function but my laptop doesn't seem to like that. Everything I've researched and tried doesn't work and I really want these to work. Anything will help. Thank you.

    Missing Camera Driver

    Hi,

    Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

    The issue could be because of any third party application or malware made changes to the Camera driver.

    However, you can follow the steps from
    Windows can't find or start the camera    .

    If you are unable to open Camera after following the above-mentioned steps, please reply with the following details:

    • Are you using an external Camera or an in-built Camera?
    • What is the make and model of your computer?

    Dell camera driver

    Is the Camera listed in Device Manager ?
    My DELL INSPIRON 15-5578 lists a > Realtek IR Camera Driver
    My older Dell's used > Dell Webcam Central
