    External display stopped working with Win 10 Lenovo laptop


    Hi


    Last week w/c 20 July my Win 10 Lenovo laptop was working fine using an external Acer display model K272HL dis using a known good HDMI lead. Part way through the week it stopped working and this seemed to coincide with an automatic Windows update.


    Updating or rolling back graphics drivers have been unsuccessful.


    Subsequent Windows updates have also been unsuccessful.


    An error comes up when trying to uninstall the latest Windows update which in turn prevents older updates being uninstalled.

    I'm trying to get back to the good status at the end of June when everything was working ok.


    I have Win 10 home 64bit version 1903 installed.


    The Laptop is a Lenovo B50-10 with Intel N3540 processor and Intel HD graphics card.

    I have lenovo g500. recently I faced a problem regarding my laptop's display. it would start but screen goes off. I could only see a dim white screen. my laptop is working fine because I have checked it by connecting it to an external display.

    please give your helpful ideas.

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting your query in Windows 10.

    I understand that you are unable to use external display with windows 10.

    This usually occurs if the video driver was not installed properly or not configured correctly.so I would suggest you to reinstall the drivers in compatibility mode and check if it helps.

    I suggest you to follow the steps below and see if it helps:

    Uninstall Display Adapter drivers

    I suggest you to uninstall the display drivers and reinstall them in compatibility mode.

    To uninstall the driver, follow the steps below:

    • Press Windows key + R
    • Type devmgmt.msc
    • Right click on the driver you want to uninstall
    • Click on Uninstall
    • Restart the system
    After the computer restarts, install the driver in compatibility mode.

    • Select the setup file
    • Right click on it and click on
      properties
    • Click on Compatibility tab
    • Select the operating system
    • Click Ok.

    We have a new Lenovo G50 laptop running Win 10. On unplugging the mains lead the display dims. How do I prevent this happening?

    Apologies if this is a basic question but only had a desktop running Win 7 previously!
