Windows 10: External Displays Shut Off With Certain Applications on Windows 10

As the title states, I'm having issues with certain apps causing my external monitors to shut off. I have a Dell Inspiron 16 Plus laptop connected to a Thunderbolt 3 Dock with DisplayLink, and I have two monitors plugged into the display ports.The issue comes seemingly at random, but it happens when these apps are open:Netflix for Windows 10Paramount+ for Windows 10Hulu in browserInstagram in browserMax Payne 3It was mostly video streaming apps, which I thought was the problem - but the fact that YouTube functions fine, video calls function fine, etc. I think that isn't the case, espec

I understand that you are unable to use external display with windows 10.

This usually occurs if the video driver was not installed properly or not configured correctly.so I would suggest you to reinstall the drivers in compatibility mode and check if it helps.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and see if it helps:

Uninstall Display Adapter drivers

I suggest you to uninstall the display drivers and reinstall them in compatibility mode.

To uninstall the driver, follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key + R
• Type devmgmt.msc
• Right click on the driver you want to uninstall
  
• Click on Uninstall
• Restart the system

After the computer restarts, install the driver in compatibility mode.

• Select the setup file
• Right click on it and click on
  properties
• Click on Compatibility tab
• Select the operating system
• Click Ok.

When the computer restarts the driver re-installs its self. and also how would I go about going into compatability mode. Would this be through internet explorer?

Any insite on this would be a great help.

This concern may be due to your display configuration. In order to resolve this issue, we suggest that you edit it by following these steps:

• Press Windows + I.
• Select System, and then Display.
• Under Multiple displays select Extend these displays.
• Also, your display screens should be aligned. See picture below for reference:
