Windows 10: External Drive A: only Clicking--Windows 11

I have an issue with any physical A: external drive clicking when running under Windows 11. It's not the drive, and the drive's not failing. I've swapped three different drives and re-labeled them A: and they all click when labled as A:, especially when I'm running DirSync Pro 1.53. They don't click when labeled differently and used as backups. Thoughts? It's not creating any real problems except really slowing down DirSync Pro, because each time the drive clicks, the program pauses for 2-3 seconds.
