Windows 10: External DVD driver on PC no longer works

Hello. I've tried best to make to work, Slimtype driver on USB keeps reconnecting back and fourth while trying to make an ISO file from the disc. So, I want to bring back the external DVD driver from my computer "ASUS DRW-24F1ST" to work again but somehow worked virtually like back then. I've searched many YouTube videos and doesn't make any sense..

Since I am going to dual loop my pc I don't have room for an internal burner,

No longer recognizes CD/DVD drive


Since receiving the Win 10 Home upgrade my computer no longer recognizes the DVD drive. It doesn't show in Device Manger or in the device list in This PC although it does spin up if you insert media into it. I've tried all the suggested remedies except messing with the registry and nothing works. This is one of several problems I've had with device drivers since the upgrade.

Windows 10 Home 64 bit
AMD FX-4130 3.80Ghz
8Gb Installed memory

This issue might occur if the drivers are outdated or corrupted.

I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it fixes the issue.

Method 1: Run Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter

Follow these steps to run Hardware and Devices troubleshooter:

• Press Windows key + W and type troubleshooting.
• Select Troubleshooting.
• Select View all on the top left corner.
• Click Hardware and Devices.
• Follow the on-screen instruction to run the troubleshooter.

Method 2: Uninstall and reinstall the driver

I suggest you to try uninstall the DVD drive drivers check if it works for you.
Follow the steps to uninstall the DVD drive drivers:

• Press Windows Key + X key and click Device Manager.
• Right-click on the DVD drive listed and click on ‘Uninstall’.
• Select the option to Delete driver software.
• Restart the computer after its uninstalled.

Try to access the device manufacturer's website and download and install the latest chipset drivers.
