    External DVD player not Playing


    I have a fairly new Laptop & have just bought an external DVD Player but I cannot get it to play.I have installed various DVD software including Microsoft Media Player even paying extra but still no joy. See photo of error message from this. It shows that the disc doesn't match the region for your DVD. I bought off of Amazon and have been asking supplier for help with this but no joy!I have tried a few trouble-shooting things see photo's i,e saying DVD decoder not detected; No DVD playback device detected etc. Also showing 'Windows Media Player not available on this Windows Edit

    DVD doesn’t play in Windows DVD Player

    Ideally, the Windows DVD Player will play movies that are on optical discs. However, we will need the details requested below:



    • Could you please provide more clarity on “will not play my DVD home movies”?
    • What is the complete error message you receive?


    We would suggest you to refer the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the article

    Fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store     and see if that helps.
