Windows 10: external DVD player stopped working

Finished watching a movie on an external dvd-player and ejected the disc by pressing the eject button. When checking on the devices it appeared as the disc was still present but couldn't be ejected.When trying to start up another disc, nothing happened.I checked the disc management and the player shows as online and good, but whatever I put in it, CD or DVD, it won't be recognized. I tried to uninstall the player and it is now totally gone. When trying to connect it again after a reboot, nothing happens, and it is not showing up anywhere.I connected it to my macbook using the same cable and it
