    External DVD recorder no longer records or plays


    My Windows 10 system has a Memorex MRX-550LEEv1 external DVD recorder hooked up to it. It is recognized in Device Manager, and when I troubleshoot it I get a 'device is working' response. However, it will not play CD's or DVD's, rather it asks if I want to use a prerecorded disc like a USB or with a CD/DVD player...like I've given it a blank CD or DVD. Also, if I try formatting a blank CD or DVD it runs the disc, then gives several UDF format options (which used to be FAT32), then after much spinning says it's unable to format the disc.

    Is my drive fried?

    Hi,

    We suggest that you run troubleshooting for Audio Recording by following these steps:

    • Type troubleshooting on the search box.
    • Click View all.
    • Select Recording Audio.
    • Follow the steps to troubleshoot Recording Audio.

    Recorder app will not play recording

    I have a microsoft phone. I have downloaded voice recorder V2.1.0.0 for windows 8.1. I have a recording on the phone now i cannot get them to play . Could you suggest any ideas as they are very important recordings.

    dvd video recording

    dvd video recording - our media player states that it cannot play the recording due to the code on the dvd but does not specify the code. Is there any way around this?
