Windows 10: External DVD RW connects/disconnects when any media inserted

I have an HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop purchased last year running Windows 11 Home with 64bits. I purchased a portable USB powered DVD RW drive and, per drive instructions, plugged it into the back port of my desktop tower. The driver loaded automatically and the drive appeared as expected of a "plug and play" device. Then I put in a DVD movie. The disc spun up, then spun down, with the external drive connecting and disconnecting in a continuous loop until I manually ejected the disc. Then the drive looks like I can use it. This circumstance can occur if the device hardware fails or if the device driver fails.



I suggest you to uninstall the Universal Serial Bus Controller
associated with the external DVD/RW (Cnm) and reinstall it from the manufacturer’s website and check if it helps.



To uninstall the drivers from device manager follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key + X and click on
  Device Manager.
• Expand Universal Serial Bus Controller.
• Find the Cnm DVD/RW drive.
• Right click on the driver and select Uninstall.

Unfortunately my problem is still not sorted. My Windows 10 Lenovo Yoga laptop will not recognize my external DVD/RW drive.

Any more suggestions anyone, apart from those suggested above?
