Windows 10: External Hard Drive not showing up in Disk Management and "This PC", not even unallocated..

Hey, i have been struggling with this issue and it has been aching my head for days on end. My external hard drive 512 gb is recognized by the pc but not showing up in "This PC". I opened Disk Management and it did not pop up, not even unallocated. Zero, it was not there, not even unallocated. If it was i could have just format it and fixed it. But no, it's not showing up in disk management. ZERO. I desperately need my hard drive, i have tried it on my laptop and it shows up. So it works on other devices and pc's. Just not on my main. Not even unallocated black in Disk Management. ZERO. I

External Hard Drive has Disappeared - Disk Management Shows Unallocated

So i have just been having a run of repeated UNEXPECTED STORE EXCEPTION error messages.

I have been trying to run some diagnostics myself. Like the system file checker, which showed up nothing and checkdisk, which also came up clean for my windows drive. However, i've noticed that my external drive is not showing in file explorer and in disk
management it is not showing in the list of 'volumes' at the top of the window but is showing as Disk 1 'Unallocated' below.

I have no idea where to go from here. If someone could guide me from here on, i'd be really grateful.

Is it possible the drive is kaput?

Let's try to format the external hard drive from disk management and check if it helps. Follow the steps below:

1. Right click on the Start menu and select Disk management.

2. Right-click on a rectangle that represents unallocated space on a hard drive, and select "New Simple Volume".

Note: that the color code that corresponds to the unallocated space vary in different Windows versions; consult the legend in the bottom of the Disk Management window.

3. Click "Next" and then "Next" again to accept the default size of the new partition.

4. Choose the option "Format the volume (partition) with the default settings" and click "Next."

5. Click "Finish" to create a new partition on the hard drive and format it.

External Hard Drive not showing in My computer

Hi,

My external hard drive (Imation--Apollo m300) is not showing in My Computer. I can see the drive when I access Device Manager and Disk Management; BUT, the drive shows as having 0 Capacity, 0 Reserved Space, and 0 Unallocated space when I ask it to populate
in the Volumes tab of Properties. I do have (or did have) lots of files on this drive. Also, the drive lists as "Online" in Disk Management. (Note: I do have another Apollo m300 external hard drive, but it's working just fine.) Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
