Windows 10: External Hard drive scan and fix is stuck at 100%

Discus and support External Hard drive scan and fix is stuck at 100% in Windows 10 Network and Sharing to solve the problem; When I plug in my hard drive, Windows wants to repair it, then loads to 100% and gets stuck.     External Hard drive scan and fix is stuck at 100%


    When I plug in my hard drive, Windows wants to repair it, then loads to 100% and gets stuck. I searched for other solutions and came across "chkdsk". When I tried that, the same error occured. I suppose the cause of the error is that my hard drive is using exFAT instead of NTFS.Is there any other way to stop windows from detecting the drive as corrupted or delete the corrupted files?

    If you already have antivirus software installed, then scanning an external hard drive should be simple.

    • Connect your external hard drive to your desktop, wait for your computer to recognize that your external hard drive has been connected.
    • Open My Pc on your desktop, and select the external hard drive and scan it.

    Hi John,

    We suggest that you try the troubleshooting steps below:

    • Open your External Hard Drive file in File Explorer.
    • Type the name of the file you want to search on the search box and click Enter.
    The file will show up in Search Results and you will be able to move it to the correct folder.

    External Hard drive scan and fix is stuck at 100%

    External Hard-drive at 100%

    My external hard-drive is constantly running at 100% for no reason. I have no idea what could be causing this and the fact that it's an external hard drive makes it a bit harder to solve as I'm not sure how to check what's taking it up.
