Windows 10: External Hard Drive suddenly not working and all files seemingly disappeared.

When in a rush I simply unplugged my external drive which contains all of my games without ejecting, as the normal prompt that comes up after clicking on "Safely remove hardware and eject media" was not appearing. Since then when I plug my drive in and attempt to open Steam, after a very long wait the app finally opens and none of my games are showing as installed. With File Explorer, after a several minute wait it also finally opens and although my drive is shown, when I try to click on it I after a long delay either get an error saying "Drive is not accessible. The parameter is incorrect

We suggest that you try the troubleshooting steps below:

• Open your External Hard Drive file in File Explorer.
• Type the name of the file you want to search on the search box and click Enter.

The file will show up in Search Results and you will be able to move it to the correct folder.

Just to verify, did you mean, your back up files used to be on your external hard drive, but now it's no longer there? If this is true, kindly provide more answers to the questions below, so we can further assess the issue:

• When did the files start to disappear?
• What are the troubleshooting steps you have done so far?
• Did you make nay changes on the settings of your PC or hard drive prior to this issue?
• Are you getting any error messages when trying to plug in your external drive?
• Does your external drive shows that the space is consumed?

External Hard Drive suddenly not accepting files

I have a brand new external hard drive "Samsung" Model # HX-M202TCB/G M3 Portable 2TB. Was working great, I started to download external music files to it, everything was going fine, then suddenly the drive just stopped accepting files. (still 98% free)
Was getting I/O error. Checked, and the drive was not even showing up in my file folders or in my disc management. I unplugged the drive, plugged it back in, and it reappears! But now I cannot download anymore files to it, or transfer any files externally/internally
from my computer to the drive. The music files I have on the drive that were successfully downloaded work, I can play them, (use on my Serato or play on Winamp), but if I try to delete any files, the drive again disappears. What is happening? Thank you.
