Windows 10: External Harddisk

I do have a 1 TB harddisk and want to confirm whether it is physically damaged or there's another problem.The issues that I am facing with the harddisk are:1. It is not instantly recognized by my pc, it takes more than 5 seconds unlike other memory devices.2. Harddisk always automatically gets disconnected during its usuage.3. While copying files, an error message appears saying cannot find the file path specified. 4. Can't open the files in harddisk, every file copied seems to be corrupted. 5. Harddisk is unable to format in NTFS type, it only gets formatted in exfat 32 type. I do have a susp

Accessing external harddisk connected via USB

How do I make a connected USB drive (ie, an external harddisk connected via a USB port) visible in the File Explorer?

 

File History of files on external USB harddisk drive

Hi,

I have a external harddisk connected to my pc using USB. This drive contains personal files which I want to add to file history. I simply want that everytime I connect my external harddrive to my pc, that file history backs up the files on it to a location
on the network. How do I do that?

* I have file history working for files on an internal harddrive

* I did add my external harddrive to the Documents library

* I tried adding the folder on the external harddrive using the "Add a folder" using the windows 10 settings. But the folder seems to dissappear from the list after a while.

Another detail: the disk is encrypted using DiskCryptor. Everytime I connect the drive windows says it has to be formatted. When I mount the drive by providing the key to DiskCryptor the drive becomes a valid one.

my friend has the same problem with this external harddisk on her windows 10 pc

Other hard disks don't have the problem only my Iomega HDD
