External HDD file transfer interrupted, error notice popup, is it ok?

i was moving files from my old win7 laptop to my external drive when it suddenly disconnect its 8 years old and tend to do that sometimes and show the error cant locate disk. when i plug the external drive to my new win10 laptop it says it detected an error and recommend a scan. i thought kinda obvious considering what just happened so after i reconnect the drive several time to see if the notification persist im quite sure theres someting wrong so i ordered the scan recommended not scan and fix. apparently it found some errors like this:

Chkdsk was executed in scan mode on a volume snapshot.

and told me to close and repair. after that i use the win10 error checking tool but it says no error were found.

    my question is:
    1. did it just fix itself automatically? i run several more error check on the external drive but it doesn't found any error?
    2. are the files other than the failed one i store on my external harddisk are all ok?
    3. is my drive ok?
    4. is there something i should be worried about?

    :)

  2. ERROR 0x80004005 while transfering file to external HDD

    Hi,

To assist you better, I would like to know what exactly does that mean when you say you make changes to the properties.

As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to check if the file that you are trying to copy has the appropriate permission to move or access it.

As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if you are able to take the full control of the folder or files.

    • Right-click the file or folder, and then click Properties.
    • Click the Security tab.
    • Under Group or user
      names
, click your name to see the permissions you have.
    • The permissions for the selected user or group are shown in the lower portion of the properties dialog box.
    • Assign yourself “Full control” permission by checking the box for “Allow” for Full Control and check if you can access the drive.
If the issue still persists, I suggest you to download the latest driver for the external hard drive from the manufacturer website and check if that helps.

Hope the information helps. Let us know if you need further assistance. We will be happy to help.

    Thank you.

  3. ERROR 0x80004005 while transfering file to external HDD

My pc has pre installed windows 10. I bought with it an external HDD. Everytime I try to transfer or directly download a file to it, I get the 0x80004005 error. I fix it everytime via "Properties" and I always get the same error when I try to do any of the
above actions, but all the files are perfectly functional. What should I do?

  4. External HDD file transfer interrupted, error notice popup, is it ok?

ERROR 0x8007045d when trying to transfer a video file to an external HDD

    Hello,

I have been receiving ERROR 0x8007045d when trying to copy a 660MB video file to a G-Technology ev ATC 1TB external HDD from my ASUS ROG GL552VW laptop. I have tried copying larger files from my desktop to the drive and it works fine. I have read many post
from all over about this error code, but most of them are concerned with installing Windows.

The file begins to transfer, but then freezes part way through and then the error message comes up. The HDD then unmounts and when I plug it back in it says that there are errors on the drive, but when I scan for errors, it says that none were found and
the drive shows back up and appears to work again. I have transferred files from the external HDD to laptop just fine.

I am using Windows 10 Home Version 1511. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
