Windows 10: External HDD keeps disconnecting randomly

Out of no where, my HDD has started disconnecting itself a few minutes after it is plugged and requires me to manually turn the external drive on and off if I want to use it again.What i've triedRestarting my PCNot using the HDD under stressful conditions and using better ventilation to know if it could be a power or an overheating issuechkdsk I have separated the HDD to 2 partitions and both did not have any bad filesReseating the HDDChanging the plugs and portsTurning off USB Selective SuspendThis problem appeared randomly this morning and I did not do anything yesterday that could have

External HDDs

Hi i had a seagate freeagent (external) which stopped working so i bought another enclosure and the hdd kept disconnecting/reconnecting in windows 8.1, so i boht another enclosure and also the same thing. Iv tried a different hdd and all hdds work perfectly when plugged directly into sata ports on the board, are there any other steps i can try or do you think iv just been unlucky with enclosures?

 

Hard Drive randomly disconnecting

It has been problem after problem with this PC and Windows 10. Now at the moment, I have had issues with my external hard drives randomly disconnecting. A few days back, both were randomly disconnecting then reconnecting while not in use. When replugging the USB, this kept giving me a Bluescreen then in the end it caused power failure where my PC couldn't keep power for more than a second or two. After taking out and putting back in the RAM, it revived it back to life and have had no such issue as yet.... untill today.

Am currently copying files over from my external to a friend external hard drive. Now my hard drive keeps randomly disconnecting then reconnecting very frequently, and it becoming very fustrating.

If anyone may have an idea what the issue is? Would be very much appreciated.

Usually, this problem occur due to software incompatibility or corrupted USB drivers. For us to better assist you, we would like to clarify the following:

• Have you made any recent changes on your computer prior to the issue?
• Which driver did you uninstall? Have you reinstall the driver? If yes, how did you reinstall the driver?
• Have you check if the external HDD is visible in Device Manager?

If the issue still persists after uninstalling some games, we suggest that you run the troubleshooter for hardware and devices. If you're using the latest Windows 10 version, follow these steps on how to run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter:

• Click the Start button and select the Settings
