Windows 10: external keyboard to msi laptop without num keypad

Hello folks, I plan to add an external keyboard, with numeric keypad, to my msi-laptop. This laptop came without the usual numeric keys to the right of the keyboard. Question: if the external (usb) keyboard has numeric keys, which I suppose will be the case, will these numeric keys be rocognized by the laptop? I see no reason why not, but I wish to play it safe and ask before. I run MSFS,which has a lot of keyboard assignments. Can I assign numeric keys from my external keyboard? well, I suppose it will depend on, whether the MSFS programme will recognize my external keyboard, so this question will be open until my setup is completed and I launch the game.

I also have to install a second monitor. Does win10 home, ver 1909, come with software to set up the second monitor? I have read about cases where external software was required. no more questions, and thanks.

HI guys - thanks for answering. I forgot about the plug-and-play thing, so windows will recognize numeric keys on it, even if there are no numeric keys on the laptop. As a matter of fact, I suppose MSI did not include numeric keys on my gaming laptop because people might want to use an external keyboard together with a gaming screen, and that is the set-up I wish to apply, too. My only concern right now, before purchasing this new second monitor, will be the resolution: most Normal laptop screens today are 16:9 - and the screen I am to buy will come with a 21:9 pixel ratio.I have not heard anyone complain about this, but in my logic there must be some kind of distortion, unless there is graphics logic involved, changing the frame buffer by adding more pixels both to the right and left. Well, I suppose this is how it is going to happen, and I am looking forward to a new experience with my MSFS(2020).

Perhaps I am misunderstanding the first question, but my regular USB keyboard is plug and play on my laptop. No special activities or fiddling required to get the number pad to work. All keys are mapped properly. (I use a standard Logitech keyboard).

As for the second question, the second monitor should be plug and play as well, though you may have to enable the second monitor in the laptop settings. The connection is usually handled by the graphics driver, so there is no special software to run to get it working.
