  2. Monitor Displaying Incorrect Resolution

I have an HP p6732f PC with an AMD Athlon II X3 445 processor and I'm having an issue where my monitor has now switched to an incorrect resolution.

I have a Samsung B2030 monitor and it is supposed to be at a resolution of 1600x900. It has been at this resolution for years until yesterday when after I closed a game it switched to a resolution of 1024x768. The highest resolution available in settings
    is now only 1152x864.

That game won't open anymore either.

Now throughout all of Windows, it is set at this low resolution and I've tried to change it back to 1600x900 in Windows settings, but it is not available. My attempts to fix this have not succeeded, got any ideas?

    External monitor display settings

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are facing issues with the display scaling on your external displays. We will certainly look into this for you.

As you are using Vizio TV, you may have to try using custom resolution settings if the in-built settings do not provide the required settings.

For better clarity, please let us know:

    • What is the version of Windows 10 that is currently installed on your computer? You can click on Search and type
      winver.
    • Are you aware of any recent changes to the system, such as updates, after which you are facing this issue?
    • What is the make and model of your computer?

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to check the steps mentioned in the Workaround section in

Windows scaling issues for high-DPI devices

I would also suggest you to check the Display drivers. Please refer

Let us know how it goes.

  4. External monitor displaying with incorrect resolution - no other options available

Viewsonic monitor suggests 2560x1440 resolution however this resolution is not available as a display resolution in Windows

    Hello,

I have the equipment listed below:

My monitor is suggesting a 2560x1440 resolution but this resolution is not available in windows. I installed the latest driver for the monitor and installed the latest driver for the graphics card, still no luck. I have two monitors attached and they are attached to the PC using HDMI cables. The PC only has two display ports on the back, so I needed to use a HDMI to display port converter.

If anyone has any suggestions, it would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Ralph
