The SystemI have a laptop: Asus ROG Zephyrus S17 running windows 11 and an external ultrawide monitor: LG 38GN950 with a native resolution of 3840x1600, it is an ultrawide monitor. which is connected via the laptops HDMI output to the monitors HDMI input. The laptop uses integrated graphics for the external monitor.The GoalI would like to use the monitor exclusively without the laptop monitor which I have previously been able to do last year without any issues, but I'm unaware what has changed since.What WorksIn the windows display settings, the resolution of both the monitor and laptop disp

I understand that you are facing issues with the display scaling on your external displays. We will certainly look into this for you.

As you are using Vizio TV, you may have to try using custom resolution settings if the in-built settings do not provide the required settings.

For better clarity, please let us know:

• What is the version of Windows 10 that is currently installed on your computer? You can click on Search and type
  winver.
• Are you aware of any recent changes to the system, such as updates, after which you are facing this issue?
• What is the make and model of your computer?

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to check the steps mentioned in the Workaround section in

How do I adjust the size of an external monitor in Display Settings?

1. Open the Display Settings on your computer. You can usually access this by right-clicking on the desktop and selecting "Display settings" or by searching for "Display settings" in the Start menu.
   
2. In the Display Settings window, you should see a diagram representing your monitors. Identify the external monitor that you want to adjust.
   
3. Click on the external monitor in the diagram to select it. You may need to click on the "Identify" button to display numbers on each monitor, helping you identify them correctly.
   
4. Once the external monitor is selected, scroll down to the "Scale and Layout" section. Here, you can adjust the size of the external monitor.
   
5. Look for the "Resolution" dropdown menu. This menu allows you to change the resolution of the selected monitor. Select a lower resolution to make the monitor appear larger on the screen. You may need to try different resolutions until you find the one that aligns correctly with your laptop screen.
   
6. After selecting the desired resolution, click on the "Apply" button to save the changes. The screen may flicker for a moment as the settings are applied.
   
7. Check if the alignment has improved. If not, repeat the steps and try a different resolution until you achieve the desired alignment.
   

Keep in mind that adjusting the resolution may affect the image quality on the external monitor, so it's important to find a balance between size and clarity that suits your needs.

Display Resolution for two monitor have different settings

Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

The display resolution depends on the monitors that you have plugged into your computer. The display resolution modes will vary with each display based on the video card device, monitor size, video driver, and monitor driver.
By default, Windows chooses the best display settings for your PC based on your monitor, so it is recommended to set the screen resolution of the display to the (Recommended) native resolution to get the best display on your monitor.

To have better clarity on the issue, let us know the model numbers of your monitors, so that we can provide you the exact display resolution which is recommended to your monitors.

Meanwhile, try the below methods and see if this helps.

Changing the Display Resolution from Settings.

Step 1: Right Click on an empty space on the desktop and click on
Display Settings.

Step 2: In the
Display Settings window, scroll down and click on 'Advanced display settings' option under
Multiple displays.

Step 3: Then, click on
Display adapter properties for Display 1, Display 2, or
Display 3; whichever monitor you want to change the resolution for.

Step 4: Once the Display properties pops-up, click on 'List All Modes' option.

Step 5: Select a display mode that you want for the selected display and click on
OK.

Step 6: Then, click on
Apply and OK for the changes to take effect.

If these steps don't work, try reinstalling the driver by opening
Device Manager, right-click on the monitor drivers, and select
Uninstall. Restart your PC and Windows will attempt to reinstall the drivers.
