Windows 10: External Network Adapter showing red cross and not appearing in wifi list

Discus and support External Network Adapter showing red cross and not appearing in wifi list in Windows 10 Drivers and Hardware to solve the problem; New network adapter with Atheros chipset is showing red cross and not showing in wifi list.     External Network Adapter showing red cross and not appearing in wifi list


    New network adapter with Atheros chipset is showing red cross and not showing in wifi list. However it works well with my other windows 10 machine. Clearly Adapter is fine. Drivers are updated as well as windows is updated to 2020. Please help.

    WiFi appears in Manage Known Networks, not in Show Available Networks

    The list of WiFi connections shown when you click the WiFi icon in the taskbar is a list of all the signals that can currently be seen by the WiFi adapter. The list in Manage Known Networks is a list of all those you have previously successfully connected to, whether or not they are currently available.


    The only plausible explanation is that for a while that WiFi signal had been turned off.

    Red cross on wifi icon in Windows 10

    Hi,

    I have encountered a problem where the wifi connection is unstable. Sometimes, the wifi can be connected to the local area network and sometimes it is not. When it is unable to connect to wifi, a red cross appear. I have updated the wireless network adapter
    and the outcome is the same.

    Anyone can help me on this? Thanks!
